Changes to the Schedule of Pharmaceutical Benefits publication dates

The Department of Health and Ageing (the Department) is implementing a new technology system, Pharmaceutical Consolidated Information System (PharmCIS), to support the processes associated with approval and listing of medicines on the Pharmaceutical Benefit System (PBS).

The complexity of this transition process means that changes to the Schedule will not be able to be made between 1 January 2012 and 1 March 2012, hence the January 2012 Schedule will remain in place until 29 February 2012. Regular monthly publication of Schedules will resume from 1 March 2012.
