The purpose of this document was to enhance the transparency of the processes employed by the Pharmaceutical Benefits Pricing Authority in recommending prices for pharmaceuticals to the Minister. This document clarified methods and procedures used by the Pricing Authority when recommending the listing price of new drugs and in the review of prices of existing drugs on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.
