Restrictions Working Group (RWG)

Restrictions Working Group (RWG) has representatives from the Department of Health, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs and Services Australia.

The group provides advice to the PBAC on the conditions for prescribing medicines on the PBS. The RWG meets three weeks before and two weeks after each PBAC meeting to determine the precise wording of restrictions and to ensure that Medicare Australia can administer them in practice. The RWG also reviews the wording of restrictions and authorities for existing listings.
