Publication of 12-month review of Minimum Stockholding Requirements and Excel breach notification form
Page last updated: 28 August 2024
The Department has completed a 12-month review of the implementation and early outcomes of the Minimum Stockholding Requirements which commenced on 1 July 2023. Under those requirements, Responsible Persons (RPs) must keep a minimum of either 4 or 6 months of stock in Australia for certain PBS listed medicines referred to as designated brands. The Executive Summary with the key findings and recommendations of the Review can be found under the heading “12 Month Review” on the Medicines Supply Security Guarantee webpage.
As outlined in Recommendation 3.2 of the Review, the Department is developing a new online notification portal to automate and streamline the notification process to reduce the administrative burden for RPs. Consistent with Recommendation 7.1, as an interim solution to the online portal, the Department has made an Excel notification form available under the heading ‘Notification Requirements’ on the Medicines Supply Security Guarantee webpage.
