Remake of National Health (Supply of Pharmaceutical Benefits – Under Co-payment Data and Claims for Payment) Rules 2022
Page last updated: 25 May 2022
The Department has recently remade the National Health (Claims and under co-payment data) Rules 2012, now titled the National Health (Supply of Pharmaceutical Benefits – Under Co-payment Data and Claims for Payment) Rules 2022.The new Rules commenced on 1 April 2022.
The purpose of this remake was to ensure that the Department continues to have authority for the transmission of claims data and data for medicines priced at or below the patient co-payment threshold and claims for payment. The new Rules replaced the 2012 Rules prior to automatic sunsetting which would have otherwise occurred on 1 April 2022.
The new Rules include a range of minor clarifications to reflect contemporary regulation drafting preferences and current data transmission processes.
The remade Rules can be accessed via the Federal Register of Legislation website.
