Application process changes for access to Section 100 - Highly Specialised Drugs (HSD) medicines
Page last updated: 25 July 2019
From 1 August 2019, hospital authorities will no longer be required to seek separate approval from the Department of Health’s HSD Program when applying for approval for access to prescribe and/or supply HSDs.
These changes will integrate the process for private hospitals requesting access to medicines funded under the HSD Program with the current hospital application form for hospital authorities to supply medicines under section 94 of the National Health Act 1953.

Please note that for hospitals seeking to access Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) medicines, a separate application is still required. Please email s100programs@health.gov.au.
