Chemotherapy Compounding Payment Scheme - Extension to the non-mandatory claiming period
Page last updated: 17 March 2017
The proposed date for mandatory inclusion of the Compounder ID with eligible EFC claims is being extended. It was originally intended that the compounder ID would become mandatory with claims lodged from 1 April 2017. A number of Approved Suppliers have indicated that the necessary amendments to their dispensing software may not be ready in time to facilitate this. In recognition of this, the implementation of the mandatory inclusion of the field is being delayed. The Department of Health will provide three (3) months notice before the field becomes mandatory. Until the field becomes mandatory, claims submitted without the compounder ID will continue to receive a warning but will not be rejected. Ahead of the change, Approved Suppliers should continue to include the compounder ID on relevant claims, where available.
Further information about this scheme can be found on the Efficient Funding of Chemotherapy Program.
