PBS Hospital Medication Charts

The PBS Hospital Medication Chart Project aims to improve the safety of medication management in Australian hospitals through standardised medication charting and medication management practice. It also helps to reduce the administrative burden on hospitals by removing the need for a separate hard copy prescription in these settings.
The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC, the Commission) has developed a national standardised medication chart for PBS use in both public and private hospitals. It will be available for hospitals to implement from 1 July 2016.
Further information on the initiative is available from the Department of Health website.
