New content on the industry subsite
1 April 2009
We have made the following improvements to the industry subsite:
Expert Advisory Panel on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Medicines
The Expert Advisory Panel on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Medicines (EAP) assists with the listing of medicines on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) for the treatment of conditions which predominantly occur in Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander populations. The EAP also provides advice to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) on these medicines, particularly in relation to clinical need. The panel helps address the greater burden of disease experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people by improving access to PBS medicines in this population.
Guidelines for Deeds of Agreement
The Department, in conjunction with Medicines Australia and the Generic Medicines Industry Association, have developed Guidelines for Deeds of Agreement for the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (Version 1.1).
The guidelines have been developed to improve the understanding of, and public access to, information regarding the requirement for, and process to develop deeds of agreement. They are intended to improve the level of understanding in relation to terminology, timing and risk-sharing components.
PBS forms (industry)
In response to feedback received, we have consolidated the Forms that may be required by the Department of Health and Ageing to list a medicine on the PBS.
Industry home page
In response to feedback received, we have developed a new look home page for the Industry Subsite with improved search functionality. Users can now differentiate their search across information in the Schedule of Pharmaceutical Benefits and information specific to industry, such as the PBAC Guidelines and steps of the listing process.
