PBS Listing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People

Nicotine transdermal patches will be available for the treatment of nicotine dependence in an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.

The Australian Government is committed to improving the capacity of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) to better meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.  The Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee is assisting this goal by evaluating and recommending the listing of medications specifically to help with the health needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.

9198D Nicotine, transdermal patch releasing approximately 15 mg per 16 hours (Nicorette Patch)
