Dibenzyline will be added as an alternative presentation of the drug Phenoxybenzamine Hydrochloride capsule 10mg.
As of 14 October 2008, PHENOXYBENZAMINE HYDROCHLORIDE (Dibenzyline®) will be available for subsidy under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme. The maximum quantity corresponds to the manufacturer's pack which should be prescribed and supplied.
This product will not appear in the Schedule of Pharmaceutical Benefits until 1 December 2008 and may also not appear in software packages until then. Pharmacists are able to substitute Dibenzyline® for scripts written for Dibenyline®.
Stocks are expected to become available the week commencing 20 October. All pharmacists are advised to contact Medicare Australia on 132290 and select option 2.
