Access to Medicines Working Group Meeting – October 2017

The Access to Medicines Working Group (AMWG) met on 19 October 2017.
Attendees included representatives from Medicines Australia and the Department of Health.
The scopes for the Streamlined Pathways Subgroup and the PBS Transparency and Efficiencies joint subgroup were endorsed by all members. The scope for the PBS Transparency and Efficiencies Joint Subgroup will be provided to the Generic Medicines Working Group for endorsement at its next meeting.
Members agreed to not convene the subgroup on the 99ACB/D of the National Health Act until legislation, currently before the Parliament, has passed.
Members agreed to publish subgroup communiqués on the PBS website to better communicate progress on key areas.
The AMWG will reconvene in February 2018 and September 2018 to allow for updates to be provided to the Strategic Agreement’s Joint Oversight Committee. The AMWG will continue to progress work out of session where required.
